Updating the servers - the App might crash.

 

Information

Dear customers, if you experience that the App crashes after installation, pls. note that we are currently updating our servers for Caller-App.

 

Usually, if you start the App again after a crash, it should work. In the rare cases, where this might not work, please let us know via our feedback form.

 

We will have finished the updates per end of May 2nd CET and everything should then work as normal.

 

Thank you very much for your undestanding - pls. excuse all inconveniences that this update creates.

Does Caller-App support iOS6?

Answer

Generally, Caller-App works on iOS6. Nevertheless, we received feedback from users who reported that the App didn't start after installation. In case this happens, pls. start the App again - it should work then. Please let us know this via our feedback-form.

Why do I have to allow Push-Notifications for Caller-App?

Answer

If you want to schedule calls with other persons, it is essential to allow Push-Notifications which will inform you when the other person has reacted to your call-invitation. If Push-Notifications are disabled the whole process does not work.

 

We will not spam you with Push-Notifications - you will only receive them when you send a Call-Invitation.

Do I need a Dropbox or Evernote account for Caller-App to work?

Answer

No, a Dropbox or Evernote Account is not required for Caller-App to work - only if you want to back-up your Call-List, you can do so by connecting Caller-App to Dropbox and/or Evernote.

Question: Why should I link the Caller-App with Dropbox or Evernote?

Answer

When linking Caller-App with Dropbox or Evernote, you may export your Call-List to these applications for use on your PC or iPad or other phones. Files will be saved as XML-files.

Question: Do I need an AirPrint enabled printer for Caller-App to work?

Answer

No, an AirPrint enabled printer is not required for Caller-App to work - only if you want to print your Call-List you can do so by wirelessly printing with AirPrint.

Question: How do I make a Call from Caller-App?

Answer

Pls. add Calls to your "Calls"-Tab first. Then simply tap on the respective Call in your Call-list and the Call-window will open.

Question: Does the person I wish to invite to a Phone-Call need Caller-App?

Answer

No, Caller-App is designed to work independently of whether the other person has installed Caller-App or not. The other person will be notified via eMail or SMS (if the address book does not contain an eMail-address) and can accept or modify the invitation via an Internet landing-page.

Question: What do the symbols ("x" and the checkmarks) in the Call-List mean?

Answer

The meaning of the different symbols in the "Calls"-Tab is as follows

Call was not done in time/missed

 


Call was deleted

Question: How does the "Share"-Tab work

Answer

The "Share"-Tab allows to export your Call-List by either saving it to Dropbox or Evernote, by printing it directly from the iPhone or by sending it via eMail. Select the Calls you want to export and then press the "Share/Print/Export"-Button. If you export to Dropbox or Evernote pls. make sure to link the accounts via the "Settings"-Tab first.

Question: What does the "Pending"-Tab show? 

Answer 

In the "Pending-Tab" you can see the Calls that you invited people to. If the other person has not yet replied, you will see it in the "No Answer yet" line. In case the other person proposed an alternative date you will find it under "New time proposed". By clicking on the entry, you may accept or deny this proposal.

 

Question: How do I delete a Call? 

Answer 

In the "Calls"-Tab you may delete a Call by swiping in the respective row.

 

Question: How do I modify a call?

Answer

In the "Calls"-Tab press the "Edit"-button which will allow you to modify the parameters of the Call.

Question: What is the "Show Options"-button for?

Answer

With "Show Options" you might filter the call list for easier handling. It may only show Calls in the future or past as well as all Calls in your list.

Question: What happens if I invite another person to a Phone-Call (=schedule a Phone-Call)?

Answer

Your contact will receive an eMail or SMS which contains a link to a landing page. Via this link, he or she can either confirm the date for the Call or propose two alternative dates. His or her reply will be shown in your App’s “Pending”-Tab. If he or she confirms, Caller-App is automatically creating an Outlook Calendar entry in your iPhone’s calendar for you and sends a confirmation eMail to the other person as well (incl. a .vcs calendar file).

Question:  “Add Call Screen” on the “+”-Tab – what is the difference between “Schedule” and “Save”?

Answer

With “Save”, the new Call is added to your Call-List (ToDos) on the “Calls”-Tab. With “Schedule”, an additional dialogue allows you to send your contact an eMail which asks for a confirmation of the call by the other person (“invitation to a Call”). Your contact will receive an eMail which contains a link to a landing page. Via this link, he can either confirm the date for the Call you proposed or propose two alternative dates. His reply will be shown your Caller-App’s “Pending”-Tab. If he confirms, the Caller-App is automatically creating an Outlook Calendar Entry for you and sends a confirmation to the other person as well. You will be notified about all replies from your contacts via Push-Notifications.

Question:  Why are deleted Calls kept in the App?

Answer

It might be helpful to look them up later. You may switch this feature off in the "Settings"-Tab.

Question:  How do I permanently delete a Call?

Answer

Go to "Settings" -> "App-Settings" -> Set "Keep deleted Calls" to "Off"

 

Question: Does the number/person I call have to be an entry from my address book? 

Answer

Yes, the number/person needs to be listed in your iPhone's address-book.
